New Delhi: Farm equipment major Escorts Ltd on Wednesday reported 54.3 percent decline in its tractor sales at 5,444 units in March. Like the rest of the auto industry, tractor sales have been impacted by the coronavirus impact.
The company had sold 11,905 units in the same month last year, Escorts Ltd said in a regulatory filing.
Domestic sales last month were down also by 54.3 percent at 5,228 units as against 11,431 units in the year-ago period, it said.
Exports in March stood at 216 units as compared to 474 units, down 54.4 percent in the same month last year, it added.
For the fiscal ended March 31, Escorts Ltd said its total sales dipped by 10.8 percent to 86,018 units as compared to 96,412 units in the previous year.
Domestic sales in FY19, stood at 5,228 units as against 11,431 units in FY19 a decline of 54.3 per cent, the company said.
Exports during the fiscal year ended March 31, jumped 56.7 per cent to 3,089 units as compared to 1,971 units in the previous year, it added.
