He highlighted that policies must support the development of <strong>climate-resilient crops<\/strong> and ensure that innovations move beyond laboratories to benefit farmers directly in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasised that agriculture remains the backbone of the economy and plays a crucial role in sustaining livelihoods, especially in the face of growing climate challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Growth in Agriculture and Horticulture<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the data shared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Agriculture output<\/strong> reached <strong>357 million tonnes<\/strong> in 2024\u201325<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Horticulture production<\/strong> stood at <strong>362 million tonnes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Growth has been supported by initiatives like soil testing, improved seed quality, and increased credit availability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has distributed <strong>over 25 crore soil health cards<\/strong>, while farmer credit limits have been increased to support agricultural expansion and productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Rising Climate Challenges<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite strong growth, the Lieutenant Governor warned that <strong>climate change is becoming a major concern<\/strong>, with extreme weather events affecting multiple states.
