However, in 2019-20, GVO of &#8216;fruits and vegetables&#8217; was \u20b9383,300 crore, about \u20b96,000 crore higher than that of cereals, according to the report.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The share of crops in India&#8217;s agriculture fell to 55.5% in 2019-20 from 62.4% in 2011-12, the ministry of statistics and programme implementation said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a report on state-wise and item-wise value of output, the ministry said agriculture, forestry and fishing accounted for 18.3% of the gross value added (GVA) at current basic prices in 2019-20, down from 18.5% in 2011-12 but the share of this sector in overall GVA of the country showed a &#8220;fluctuating trend over the years&#8221;. It was 17.6% in 2018-19 and 18.6 % in 2013-14. &#8220;&#8216;Cereals&#8217; and &#8216;fruits and vegetables&#8217; (two largest groups of crops) together accounted for more than 52% of the sector in  2011-12, and increased to 55% in 2019-20,&#8221; the ministry said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.kisansabha.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1593021614-0669.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1346\" width=\"931\" height=\"697\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.kisansabha.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1593021614-0669.jpg 620w, https:\/\/blog.kisansabha.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1593021614-0669-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 931px) 100vw, 931px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The gross value output (GVO) of cereals, at \u20b9336,400 crore, was highest among all the crop-groups in 2011-12. However, in 2019-20, GVO of &#8216;fruits and vegetables&#8217; was \u20b9383,300 crore, about \u20b96,000 crore higher than that of cereals, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest output of cereals in all the years, although its share in national output marginally decreased to 18.5% in 2019-20 from 18.6% in 2011-12. The share of Madhya Pradesh went up considerably to 10% in 2019-20 from 6.2% in 2011-12, it said.
